hey! nice to meet you!

we are Doka, Roberto, Charly and Eduardo

ZOKALO is an alternative rock band based in Montréal, defined by a distinctly cosmopolitan musical identity. Formed by Canadian and Latin American musicians, the band crosses cultural and musical boundaries through a repertoire performed in English, French, and Spanish, allowing each song to naturally find its own language and artistic voice.

Rather than being confined to a single genre, ZOKALO approaches every composition as its own universe. Their music moves freely between rock, indie pop, classical music, and electronic music, always placing emotion, memorable melodies, and artistic honesty above genre conventions.

Their songs explore themes of love, loss, hope, the search for meaning, and the human condition, combining cinematic arrangements and expressive vocals with a sound that can shift from intimate and delicate to powerful and energetic, depending on the story each song seeks to tell.

Following the release of their first three singles—Don't Fuck It Again, Quiero Buscarte, and The Blue Lovers—ZOKALO has begun establishing its presence within Montréal's independent music scene.

The band is now preparing to release Allez Amour, its first song written entirely in French, further reinforcing ZOKALO's cosmopolitan vision and its commitment to creating music that transcends languages, cultures, and musical boundaries.
